Humans are social animals.
In any society, it's often just a small handful of individuals who shape the ecosystem of the entire society, even influencing the course of history.
Everyone, at some point in their life, has a chance to rise and become someone significant.
They might become famous by accident, or through remarkable achievements and power.
Some may shine only briefly, while others are remembered for generations.
Their fame might stay within their hometown, or it could reach across the globe.
However, the majority of people are just inconspicuous cogs in the machinery of society, playing crucial roles in keeping everything running. They are simple, humble, and plain. These modest, low-key individuals are what we call in English: small potatoes.
Introducing Small Potato
But small potatoes are still people. They have their own families, friends, lives, and stories. Every Small Potato is unique.
That said, it doesn't mean we can't categorize them.
Stupid Potato
Here's one: "Stupid Potato". He's silly, simple-minded, and a bit naive. He often gets taken advantage of, but he makes up for it with his kindness. But you also know how dull he is, so he often makes mistakes.
Swag Potato
In stark contrast to this dullness is our boy, "Swag Potato". The men have beards, and the women have red lips. They're always impeccably dressed, love the spotlight, and enjoy showing off. Sometimes they take on challenges they clearly aren't up for, just to prove how stylish and confident they are. But I will not take such risks.
Smart Potato
Speaking of calculated risks, the Smart Potato takes the crown. They are very curious and love reading, so much so that they all end up wearing glasses. However, they're often so caught up in their studies and research that they become very lonely. You can't help but wonder if that kind of isolation leads them to do something foolish. Still, one thing's for sure — if they go to school, teachers will always describe them as quiet. Or to put it less nicely: antisocial.
Popo
There's another one: Popo — wait, don't get mad! "Popo" stands for Polite Potato. As the name suggests, they're very well-mannered and rule-abiding. But most importantly, they love helping others and standing up for what's right.
Prince of Money
Now, not all characters in this series are small potatoes.
There's also a type of person who is capable of making a lot of money but stays low-profile — a hidden millionaire who remains unknown to the public. These people are called "Prince of Money."
They look like coins, but they're still people. Sometimes, they generously share their money-making secrets and financial wisdom. But more often, they avoid the spotlight entirely. Why? Because when it comes to money, everyone wants to make it, and they don't want to let too many in on the secrets.
Gento Man
There's someone called "Gento Man". He is an idol among Small Potatoes. He survived a massive battlefield, endured countless hardships, rose to become a tough general and a brilliant strategist — nearly became a national leader. But then, he was removed from history with Damnatio memoriae.
He represents someone who came from humble beginnings and climbed their way up to national prominence. Because of that rags-to-riches story, he is very famous among Small Potatoes. That said, since he's been gone for a long time, if you ever see him again, you will basically only see his impersonation.
