Choose an object or text 5 metres (roughly 10 to 20 feet) away and focus on it for about 10-15 seconds. Then, shift your focus to an object or text within 1 metre for also 10-15 seconds. Repeat 5 times.

Alternate between near and far focus to exercise the muscles responsible for focusing.

2. Finger focus shifting

Hold your pointer finger a few inches away from your eye. Focus on your finger. Slowly move your finger away from your face, holding your focus. Look away for a moment, into the distance. Focus on your outstretched finger and slowly bring it back toward your eye. Repeat 3 times.

3. Eye rolling

Slowly roll your eyes in a circular motion clockwise, and then counterclockwise. Do this exercise several times to improve eye mobility and reduce eye fatigue.

4. Palming

Rub your hands together to generate heat and place your warm palms gently over your closed eyes. Relax and let the warmth soothe your eyes. This exercise helps relieve eye strain and promotes relaxation.

This exercise should be done from a seated position as well. Pick a point on the floor about 3 metres (10 feet) in front of you and focus on it. Trace an imaginary figure eight (or infinity symbol) with your eyes. Keep tracing for 30 seconds, then switch directions.

This exercise helps improve eye coordination and flexibility.

7. 20-20-20 rule

Instead of saying it is an eye exercise, this is more like a break method. Every 20 minutes, look away from your screen and focus on an object about 6 metres (20 feet) away for 20 seconds.
